NEWBIE Problems

Hi All.

Just want to say that this site looks really good and it seems that everone here is very helpful.

Ok, I've downloaded the chat room to add to my website, my site is a web radio, initialy aimed to the brazilian community in the UK as well as in Brazil and other countries.

So, I have added the chat room to my site, so people that will be listening to the radio can interact to each other, however my issues are.

1. Everytime I try to log in, it asks me for a password, which I don't have
2. When I'm finally able to log in as a guest, I change my nick and try to register that nick as owner, but I can see any option to do so and the nick goes back to guest after some time.
3. Whenever I'm in the room, I can see al lthe option such as "registering room", "security", etc. Will everyone that log in to my site be able to see and "play" with those options?

I'm sorry to be a pain, but I'm a complete newbie to all this and if there was begginers guide to chat rooms, I would be in heaven.

Any help would be much appriciated.

Registered nicknames are shared with the entire server. It sounds like you may be trying to use a nickname which has already been registered by someone else.

Once you've registered a nickname, successfully, you'll be able to register the room so no one else can.

If you need help trying to get things registered, look for the Support room in the rooms list. Someone there should be able to help you out.

j is right.. You must register an account first before you log in. Those registered names/nicknames will now sent or shared with the entire server, itself. Made sure that you nickname is not the same to the other nicknames. Support room will help you out to solve that issues you are encountering.
